# Sell access to your bot

> Three patterns that work today with your own checkout. We do not take payments for you, and your users never pay Vidmoat.

Use your own checkout: Stripe, Paddle, Lemon Squeezy, Telegram Stars in your own bot, or anything else.

### Step 1: An allowlist and your checkout

Set access to "Only people on a list". Ask for the buyer's Telegram @username at checkout (or have them message a bot of yours that reads their numeric id). When the payment succeeds, your server calls `PATCH /v1/telegram/users/{user}` with `{"allowed": true}`; when a subscription ends, `{"allowed": false}`. Put a page about how to get access in the support contact: people who are not on the list see it.

### Step 2: A paid private group

Set access to "Members of groups the bot is in" and add the bot to a private Telegram group that people pay to join (a membership bot, or an invite link sent after checkout). Members can use the bot in the group and in private; when they leave, they lose access.

### Step 3: Tiers as daily limits

Keep a low per-person limit for everyone and give paying people a higher one with `daily_credits`. A cap of 0 is a free tier that only collects footage.

Use the `telegram.end_user.first_seen` [webhook](https://developer.vidmoat.com/developer/docs/telegram/webhooks-and-data) to start a trial or send a welcome from your own system, and keep your bot's daily cap as a safety net: every credit comes out of your balance.

> **Warning: You are the seller.** If you sell access, your terms, your refunds and your support apply. Tell your users what the bot keeps (their projects and chat history, until you or they ask you to delete it).
