# Your bot's words

> Bot instructions, welcome and help text, a support contact, and your own plugins: how your bot talks and what it can call.

Under **Behaviour** in the Telegram tab:

- **Bot instructions** (up to 2,000 characters, plain text): how the editing agent should talk to your users. Tone, language, what your bot is for, what to suggest first.
- **Welcome message** (up to 600), sent on `/start`, and **help text** (up to 1,000), shown on `/help` with the list of commands after it.
- **Support contact** (up to 200): a web address, a Telegram @handle or an email. It appears in `/help` and under every refusal (not allowed in, blocked, at a limit, unavailable).

> **Note: Our rules come first.** Your instructions are added after our rules, inside markers, and our rules win. They shape how the bot talks; they cannot add tools, raise limits, change prices or unlock features. Those are enforced in code, whatever the text says. Text that is too long is refused, never cut.

One line, "Powered by Vidmoat", appears in the bot's `/help` unless you turn it off. Nothing else in the bot mentions Vidmoat.

## Your own plugins on the bot

If you built a plugin on the [plugin platform](https://developer.vidmoat.com/developer/docs/plugins), you can let your bot's agent call it: under **Integrations**, switch it on for this bot (it is off until you do). Only your own plugins, and only once approved in review (unlisted is fine). Calls run exactly as the platform runs them for you, the plugin's owner, with your plugin's credential; your users' identities are never sent. Plugin calls are not charged credits; the editing turn that makes them is charged as usual and counts against your caps.

Plugins by other developers and plugins that sign in to another service (OAuth) are not available to bot users: they were installed or connected for your own account, not for strangers in your chat. For anything else, such as a CRM or your own database, call our API from your server and react to the [bot's webhooks](https://developer.vidmoat.com/developer/docs/telegram/webhooks-and-data).
